At pakikipaglaban
Sa hangaring makamtan
Ang tunay na kalayaang
Hinahanap at inaasam ng buong bayan.

Pumanaw kayo't iglap na nawala
Ang inyong hangaring makamtan
Ang pag-asang mapasa-ating mga kamay
Ay dagling nabitawan
Ngunit sa inyong paglisan
Huhugot ng pag-asa
Na ang kalayaan at katarungan
Ay makamit ng madlang bayan
At madiligan kaming nauuhaw.

Ang bawat sigaw na papailanlang
Ay katahimikang batid
Ng aming mga pusong 'di masusugatan
Hindi bibigay sa kalungkutan
Ng inyong paglisan
Kayo ang pintuang sa ami'y magbubukas
Para ipagpatuloy ang sinimulang
Pakikibaka at pag-aalsa
Upang kadilimang hatid ng huwad na laya
Ay maging liwanag sa bawat gunita.

~Wallei Bautista Trinidad

PANAGHOY
(Tula ng Pakikibaka Para sa Paghahanap ng Kalayaan at Katarungan)

Nagsipag-alsa
Laman ng isipang
Ang tanging alam
Ay makibaka
At ipaglaban
Ang kalayaang
Dapat tinatamasa.

Nasaan ang kalayaan?

Ang pag-ibig
Sa lupang tinubuan
Ay ang pakikipaglaban
Sa kalayaang
Hanggang kailan
Dapat asahan
Kailan makakamtan?

Sino ang malaya?

Huwad na layang
Pilit sinusupil
Ang mga aba
Tayo ay alipin
Ng kalakarang liko
Binubusog sa pangako
Na laging napapako.

Ano ang ipinaglalaban?

Nananaghoy ang mga kaluluwa
Na hindi natamasa
Ang hustisyang
Dapat ay sa kanila
Silang mga nagdusa
Para sa pag-asang
Makamtan ang ligaya.

Ano ang kaligayahan?

Mahal na Inang Bayan
Salat sa tunay
Na mukha ng kalayaang
Pilit hinahagilap
Puspusang hinahanap
Lubusang pinapangarap
Ng mga gutom na anak.

Kailan ang katapusan?

Ilang buhay ang mawawala
Ilang obra ang papasok sa gunita
Upang panaghoy
Sa paghanap ng kalayaan
Para sa Inang Bayan
Ay makamtan
At wala ng sisigaw.

MABABAW ANG GABI

Paikot-ikot
Sa isang tabi
Biling-baliktad ang gawa
Habang nilalakbay
Ng diwa
At hinahapyawan
Ang mga kuwentong
Sa isip ay naglalaro
Sabog ang tunog
Ng Am band sa radio
Gamit ang internet
Na sinasabay pa
Mga tugtuging pamasko.
Minsang di marinig
Kung ano ang tunog
Sapagkat abala
Ang kabilang daloy
Ng isip sa pagtatanto
Ng mga bagay-bagay.
Pamilya.
Buhay.
Puso.
Gawa.
Sakit.
Tamis.
Pait.
Pagod.
Saya.
Bibiling muli
Biglang tatayo
Papasok pa sa toilet
Pipiliting umihi
Kahit walang laman
Ang pantog.
Pipiliting muli ay humiga
Babaliktad
Bibiling
Ang lalim ng gabi
Naging mababaw
Umaga na
At puyat na naman. –Wallei Trinidad 20Nob2011

Bayang marilag
Bulaklak ng sangkalupaan

Alab ng puso
Sa diwa namin ay ikaw.

Bitui’y marikit
Araw ay makislap
Maliwanag ang buwan
Hangin ay banayad
Sariwa ang kalikasan.
Ang bawat pangako
Hatid ay katuparan
Sa lupang sinukob
Marubdob ang pagmamahal.

May musikang payak
Sa pandinig ay panatag
May sayaw sa langit
Na puspos ng galak.

Araw at bituin

Pati na ang buwan
Lahat kikislap, kikinang
Sa Pilipinas na mahal!

Her passion for the art started when her father introduced her to sketching and oil painting when she was younger. In 2007, she took basic and advanced photography courses at the FPPF( Federation of Philippine Photographers Foundation), finishing at the top of her class.and took wedding photography workshop with PCCI. In the same year, she went on to win Photo of the Year 2008 with her “Raindrops” entry in the PhotoWorld Cup Network, a tough competition of the best photographers among the Philippines’ camera clubs. More awards affirmed her artistic talent: she was two time Imahe Club’s Photographer of the Year in 2008-2009. In 2009, she ranked 5th as Photographer of the Year in PhotoWorld Cup; shooting up to 3rd in 2010.She is also a speaker in Photo World Asia 2011. Lately she won in the international Photo Competition held in South Korea. She beat more than 500 entries from Japan, Korea, Philippines, China, USA and Canada to win the 2011 Asia Pacific District Photographic Competition of the Professional Photographers of America (PPA).

She loves portraiture and landscapes, enjoying and portraying them with available light. After her photographer-husband Jon Carlos taught her Photoshop, Maricris got hooked on photo editing and doing layouts for weddings, and shortly thereafter her passion to create surreal images started.

Amorsoloesque is inspired by National Artist Fernando Amorsolo, who art depicts Filipino Culture and way of life amid the back lighted scenic Philippine scapes.

Maricris is now doing photography workshops. Lately, she conducted a highly successful “Amorsoloesque” workshop in Singapore and Middle East ( United Arab Emirates) It was attended by Singaporeans, Indonesians, Malaysians, Indians, Vietnamese as well as Filipino expats.
It was a great success as every single attendee learned the Amorsoloesque tips and Techniques.
The participants output were astounding, It piqued everyones dormant creative mind. And as what Amorsoloesque is all about..It is a learning oppurtunity.

“Amorsoloesque is a learning technique,” says Kris, “the only limit is your imagination.”

FREEDOM BY MAHER ZAIN

A dear friend of mine introduced this song to me while we are having conversation. I love the melody and the message is so clear.

And here's the lyrics of the song:

Gathered here with my family
My neighbours and my friends
Standing firm together against oppression holding hands
It doesn't matter where you're from
Or if you're young, old, women or man
We're here for the same reason; we want to take back our land

Oh God thank you...
For giving us the strength to hold on
And now we're here together

Calling you for freedom, freedom
We know you can hear our call, ooh oh
We're calling for freedom, fighting for freedom
We know you won't let us fall, ooh no
We know you're here with us

No more being prisoners in our homes
No more being afraid to talk
Our dream is just to be free, just to be free
Now when we've taking our first step
Towards a life of complete freedom
We can see our dream getting closer and closer, we're almost there

Oh God thank you...
For giving us the strength to hold on

And now we're here together

Calling you for freedom, freedom
We know you can hear our call, ooh oh
We're calling for freedom, fighting for freedom
We know you won't let us fall, ooh no

I can feel the pride in the air
And it makes me strong to see everyone
Standing together holding hands in unity
Shouting out loud demanding their right for freedom
This is it and we're not backing of
Oh God we know you hear our call

And we're calling you for freedom, freedom
We know you can hear our call, ooh oh
We're calling for freedom, fighting for freedom
We know you won't let us fall, ooh no

We're calling you for freedom, freedom
We know you can hear our call, ooh oh
We're calling for freedom, fighting for freedom
We know you won't let us fall, ooh no
We know you're here with us

THE REAL LIFE

What poems, quotes, words have stopped you in your tracks lately and what images do they conjure up or inspire you to capture?

Even in the struggle, you are loved.
You are being loved not in spite of the hardship, but through it.
The thing you see as wrenching, intolerable, life’s attack on you,
is an expression of love.

There is the part of us that fears and protects and defends and expects,
and has a story of the way it’s supposed to turn out.
That part clenches in fear, feels abandoned and cursed.

There is another part, resting at the floor of the well within, that
understands:
this is how I am being graced, called, refined, by fire.

The secret is, it’s all love.
It’s all doorways to truth.
It’s all opportunity to merge with what is.

Most of us don’t step through the door frame.
We stay on the known side.
We fight the door, we fight the frame, we scream and hang on.

On the other side, you are one with the earth, like the mountain.
You hum with life, like the moss.
On the other side, you are more beautiful:
wholeness in your bones, wisdom in your gaze,
the sage-self and the surrendered heart alive.

PARA KAY SUSAN, AKING INA

Para kay Susan, Aking Ina

Nang imulat ko aking mata
Nakita ko ay hiwaga
Ikaw iyon aking Ina
Isinilang ang pag-ibig
Sa mga labi ay may tuwa
Iginapos ng iyong bisig
Ang pangambang hatid ng dilim
Sa liwanag ay sumilay
Ang makulay kong buhay. ~Wallei Bautista Trinidad 08 May 2011

English Translation:
For Susan, My Mother

As I opened my eyes
I saw the mystery
That's you my Mother
Love was born
There was delight on my lips
Your warm embrace has erased
The fears brought by darkness
In the light shines
My colorful life.

QUALITY IS IN THE DETAILS

Quality is in the details.

I rarely photograph the footwear that I design. It's not that I am interested to it but it is part of my every day. In footwear production, quality is mandatory and so I ensure that I am providing the best quality in every detail. I design and develop footwear that is beautiful, comfortable and durable.

Many are curious about my job and the nature of my work. Because for the past 10 years, I have been dealing with this kind of things and there’s no use to put everything in picture.

Yes, I am a Footwear Industry Development Specialist. This is the title given to us by the Philippine Footwear Federation Incorporated after we were hired as Footwear Consultants for Marikina Shoe Industry.

I don’t want to be called as Designer. Yes, I design footwear but as a specialist you are not bound only to design the shoes but you make them as a whole. It covers a whole lot of things; Anatomy, leather technology, industrial engineering, etc.

And what is so exciting about this photo?

This is Arabic Sandal designed for a large retail company in Middle East, actually one of those sandals that I designed with a fabulous detail.

WALITOGRAFIA II : i express. i shoot.i live. i love ♥

Lately, I feel so down because of the unexpected things happened. Aside, I was busy in my work and I almost forgot that it's been a while since I have not posted something to my "Walitografia's I Express. I Shoot. I Live. I Love."

And this is my first photo for the second volume.

There, the King of all artists is reminding me that even the world is crumbling down on me, still it is the most beautiful place. He was there with me during my difficult times.

So, there I have it. Taken from my window on the 8th floor at 6:48 pm.

KAY BATHALA SASANDIG

KAY BATHALA SASANDIG

Sa bawat pintig
Ng kaluluwang uhaw
At pagpatak ng dugo
At pawis na umaapaw
Hindi alintana
Pagod na nararamdaman
Idinadalangin ang kagalingan
Sa Bathalang aming sinasandigan.

Anumang panahon ng paghihirap
At sakunang aming dinaranas
Laging iniisip at panay ang paghanap
Kay Bathalang sandigan
Ang aming Diyos na maalam
Panginoong nagbibigay buhay
Poon ng sangkatauhan
Bathalang sandigan ng sambayanan.

Ang lahat ng unos
At lahat ng sigwa
Nananatiling gising at 'di tulala
Sapagkat nakasandig

HOW TO BE ALONE

HOW TO BE ALONE by Tanya Davis

If you are at first lonely, be patient. If you've not been alone much, or if when you were, you weren't okay with it, then just wait. You'll find it's fine to be alone once you're embracing it.

We could start with the acceptable places, the bathroom, the coffee shop, the library. Where you can stall and read the paper, where you can get your caffeine fix and sit and stay there. Where you can browse the stacks and smell the books. You're not supposed to talk much anyway so it's safe there.

There's also the gym. If you're shy you could hang out with yourself in mirrors, you could put headphones in (guitar stroke).

And there's public transportation, because we all gotta go places.

And there's prayer and meditation. No one will think less if you're hanging with your breath seeking peace and salvation.

Start simple. Things you may have previously (electric guitar plucking) based on your avoid being alone principals.

The lunch counter. Where you will be surrounded by chow-downers. Employees who only have an hour and their spouses work across town and so they -- like you -- will be alone.

Resist the urge to hang out with your cell phone.

When you are comfortable with eat lunch and run, take yourself out for dinner. A restaurant with linen and silverware. You're no less intriguing a person when you're eating solo dessert to cleaning the whipped cream from the dish with your finger. In fact some people at full tables will wish they were where you were.

Go to the movies. Where it is dark and soothing. Alone in your seat amidst a fleeting community.
And then, take yourself out dancing to a club where no one knows you. Stand on the outside of the floor till the lights convince you more and more and the music shows you. Dance like no one's watching...because, they're probably not. And, if they are, assume it is with best of human intentions. The way bodies move genuinely to beats is, after all, gorgeous and affecting. Dance until you're sweating, and beads of perspiration remind you of life's best things, down your back like a brook of blessings.

Go to the woods alone, and the trees and squirrels will watch for you.
Go to an unfamiliar city, roam the streets, there're always statues to talk to and benches made for sitting give strangers a shared existence if only for a minute and these moments can be so uplifting and the conversations you get in by sitting alone on benches might've never happened had you not been there by yourself

Society is afraid of alonedom, like lonely hearts are wasting away in basements, like people must have problems if, after a while, nobody is dating them. but lonely is a freedom that breaths easy and weightless and lonely is healing if you make it.

You could stand, swathed by groups and mobs or hold hands with your partner, look both further and farther for the endless quest for company. But no one's in your head and by the time you translate your thoughts, some essence of them may be lost or perhaps it is just kept.

Perhaps in the interest of loving oneself, perhaps all those sappy slogans from preschool over to high school's groaning were tokens for holding the lonely at bay. Cuz if you're happy in your head than solitude is blessed and alone is okay.

It's okay if no one believes like you. All experience is unique, no one has the same synapses, can't think like you, for this be releived, keeps things interesting lifes magic things in reach.

And it doesn't mean you're not connected, that communitie's not present, just take the perspective you get from being one person in one head and feel the effects of it. take silence and respect it. if you have an art that needs a practice, stop neglecting it. if your family doesn't get you, or religious sect is not meant for you, don't obsess about it.

you could be in an instant surrounded if you needed it
If your heart is bleeding make the best of it
There is heat in freezing, be a testament.

ANG PINAKAMAGANDANG TULA SA BALAT NG LUPA

Ang Pinakamagandang Tula sa Balat ng Lupa

Ngayong gabi ako ay susulat
Ng mga katagang siyang magiging tula
Sa kahit anong wika
Puso ang magsasalita
Ilang letra, ilang berso
Lahat ba'y dapat may tugma?
Nakalimutan kong isulat

The Most Beautiful Poem on Earth
Translation by Angelo Ancheta

Tonight I will write
A poem
In a language
My heart knows
How many words, how many verses
Should there be rhymes?
If I force myself to write a verse
Only to follow an idol poet
Will it still be a poem?
I thought about my life, myself
My ups and down, tears and laughter,
Looked out the window to gaze
At the sky, the stars
And the moon so bright,
The breeze so gentle,
And the sound of crickets
Brings music to my ears.
What a splendid night
It seemed I lost
The words to describe
And the poem I wanted to write
Should I just write in the air?
I listened to my heartbeat
Telling me how to find
The poem
That is
Me..
You...
Them....
Us.....
The most beautiful poem
Is a human being.

MOON AT DAWN : POEM FOR JAMES SINGLADOR PHOTOGRAPHY

"Moon at Dawn" by James Singlador

Sa Ilalim ng Bilog na Buwan

Sa ilalim ng bilog na buwan
Kung saan paparating ang umaga
Hinabi ko ang diwang nasasaloob
At nadama ang kakaibang hiwaga
May pag-ibig na sumilay sa puso
At ang lamig ng hanging parating
Ay nagbigay pag-asa sa mga hinaing
Sa ilalim ng bilog na buwan
Isinilang ang katanungan
At naghilom ang damdaming sugatan.

~Tula para sa Larawan ni James Singlador ni Wallei 20Mar2011

My English Translation:

Under the full moon
Before the breaking of dawn
I have contemplated
And saw the mysteries
Love, I felt
The coldness of the wind
Has given hope to all my qualms
Under the full moon
Questions are born
And gave relief to my wounded soul.
